The central beach of charming Bidart – Plage Centrale – picks up less swell than Anglet but it’s a fun and easy surf spot in the Bask Country. At high tide the beach disappears and everybody will be in front of the surf club where the jetty can help to shape the waves. Lower tide changes Bidart into different spots with beachbreak features.
There is always something at the club, the north can close out or line up perfectly, further north at the cliffs it’s mostly pretty mellow. Low tide shows some rocks. Not much parking so you will need to walk if you want to get to this Pays Basque beach beauty in summer. © Christina Antje Friedrich
