Hourtin-Plage is not much more than one road leading to the beach but it is a cute little town with possibly good surf, shops and party in summer. The one access to the ocean gives endless possibilities up north or south if you take the walk. It’s a classic Gironde spot where a good bank brings generally very rippable waves on a not too low tide with the occasioneel barrel on the right bank. The banks further out can cause close outs at low tide or on swells with bigger period. © Bernard Choquet / www.homespot-surfshop.com
