The main spot at Blankenberge can be found on the right side of the Pier, just in front of the surfclub. The spot can be used for SUP, wind-, kite- and surfing. It is a fairly exposed beach/pier break that has reasonably consistent surf, although summer tends to be flat. Offshore winds are from the southeast. Waves come mostly from local wind swells and also from distant groundswells. The best swell angle is from the north/northwest. The beach break offers both left and right hand waves. Good surf at all stages of the tide. Take care of the strong rips around the Pier. Tends to get crowded.
The little city of Blankenberge has a lot to offer besides surfing. Take a walk on the Pier, go for some shopping or visit their local skatepark. Blankenberge is easy to reach by public transport (bus, tram and train).
