Alaia Surflodge was “born” in 2012 with Bob and I (Susi). We have been receiving guests since then. But life is an unpredictable highway and a few years ago, ours went in different ways. Bob changed Portugal for the remote jungle of Costa Rica and I continued hosting guests at Alaia Surflodge Ericeira, my hometown, where the “sea is the most blue”. But the main spirit of Alaia is still here. Let’s enjoy life and please feel at home!
Alaia is the name of a tradicional Hawaiian surfboard made of wood and it is characterized for being finless and flat. There’s one in the house for you to see. As we both love the sea and to surf we have named our house with one of the words that relates to the origin of surfing.
